Role Overview
Develop and modify 3D models of castings, patterns, core boxes, and tooling for a cast iron/ductile iron foundry. This role involves preparing 2D manufacturing drawings, coordinating with various production teams, ensuring manufacturability, and supporting new product development and design issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop 3D models of castings, patterns, core boxes, and tooling using CAD software.
- Prepare 2D manufacturing drawings from 3D models.
- Modify existing designs based on customer requirements and production feedback.
- Coordinate with the Pattern Shop, Production, Quality, and NPD teams for design implementation.
- Ensure models are manufacturable and meet dimensional and quality standards.
- Support new product development (NPD) and product improvement activities.
- Maintain design files, revisions, and engineering documentation.
- Assist in resolving design-related production issues.
Requirements & Qualifications
Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
