Role Overview
Ashtayah Labs is a technology and product innovation lab building AI-powered software products and high-impact engineering solutions. This AI Engineering Intern role is for someone who can work across full-stack development and applied AI use cases, building real-world product features from frontend interfaces to backend systems and AI integrations. The intern will contribute to live products, impacting real users.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and ship end-to-end product features (frontend + backend)
- Integrate AI capabilities (LLMs, APIs, simple ML workflows) into products
- Design and develop scalable APIs and services
- Use AI coding assistants (ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor, etc.) to improve speed and quality
- Work with cloud infrastructure
- Debug, optimize, and improve system performance
- Collaborate on product decisions, not just implementation
Requirements & Qualifications
Strong fundamentals in JavaScript and/or Python. Familiarity with frontend technologies (React, HTML, CSS) and backend concepts (APIs, REST, server-side logic). Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts (LLMs, embeddings, APIs) and databases (SQL/NoSQL). Experience with Git and version control. Ability to leverage AI tools effectively for coding and problem-solving. Demonstrated side projects via GitHub portfolio are a plus.
